I threw away the Hannah Montana tickets.
Stop screaming.
It was an accident, I swear. We'd gotten two of the hottest tickets of the season from a friend at our bank and I couldn't seem to find a time when Cleopatra and I could drop by to pick them up and express our extreme gratitude, so last week I asked the bank to mail the tickets and resolved that Cleo and I would send a really gushy thank you note.
We waited and waited for the tickets that still hadn't shown up by yesterday, and the show is so irretrievably sold out that there was no way short of many hundreds of dollars we were getting into that arena.
"Well," I thought, "maybe they forgot to mail them." So I called to make arrangements to pick them up on my way home from dropping the kids off at school, and my friend's assistant assured me they'd been sent a week ago in an envelope the size of a greeting card.
You know how you get all this mail every day and most of it's junk so you weed out the few legitimate pieces and throw away the rest?
Uh oh.
Well, the spirits were smiling on me today, for once, probably out of
pity for the crippling migraine I've been whining about enduring stoically for the past week.
I'd canceled our housekeeper on Monday so I could take a five hour nap
(I'm telling you, this is a merciless migraine), so the trash
hadn't been taken out. And, our recycling is scheduled for pickup on
Thursday, although they never pick up on time anyway. So I raced home and flung recycling left and right until I dug up a greeting card sized envelope from the bank, and there they were -- two tickets to Hannah Montana.
Luckily for me, Cleo is none the wiser.
Unless you tell her.
Omg, my stomach twisted just reading that. I won't tell. I know my petite ones would walk on hot coals for Hannah Montana.

Yeah, no kidding. And after being sent to the doghouse for planning a vacation ten months before the premiere of High School Musical 2, if I'd messed up HM life as we know it would have been over.

We so almost bought tickets this year for that! We actually debated it all the way up to the price break of $200 a ticket. I'm glad you found yours and look forward to your report. :) The things we do for our kids. My daughter at this age would be just as happy with a Hummer limo ride to her favorite restaurant. Although she is most excited about listening to her new double pack Hannah Montana CDs at full decible volume. :) So glad you found me and linked back so I could come visit you!

Holly, if you can get away with a limo ride, go for it! I've said for a long time that there was no point to putting my kids on a plane and dragging them and all their paraphernalia halfway across the country as long as they were still entertained by a visit to the supermarket. I can't get away with that any more, but when they were younger we made an awful lot of visits to the supermarket.
