Melanie, hanging on the Refrigerator Door, asks us to buy (not rent, but BUY) and spotlight, three books a month. And awaaaay we go!
- The Annotated Pride and Prejudice (my son once called it "Pride and Predijuice") by Jane Austen (of course), annotated and edited by David M. Shepard. This book is delicious, filled with explanations of terminology and history, illustrations explaining fashions, social ranking and modes of transportation, and citations from Austen's writings.
- Banker To The Poor by Muhammad Yunus, founder of the Grameen Bank (microbanking organization that lends to the poorest of Bangladesh to support their own businesses) and winner of the Nobel Peace Prize.
- The Diana Chronicles by Tina Brown. Okay, I had to.
