because we had an earthquake here this morning and I thought it was exciting.
I thought I had a life, but I guess not.
Do you have a life? Is it more interesting than mine? Can you share yours with me?

Um, not sure where you are in the midwest, but my in-laws live in Clinton, IA. I haven't talked to them yet, so I don't know if they felt it all the way up there. 5.4 is pretty exciting no matter where you are. Glad you are OK and just "excited". I live in WA state and we have had our share of quakes too. In 2001 we had a 6.8 quake that was VERY exciting. ;)

I'm telling you, I don't have a lot of excitement in my life. A little quaking is enough to shake things up for a day. I don't get out much.

No life here, either. I'd probably beat you at that... LOL!

I slept right through it here in Indiana.

My son slept through it and, what's more shocking is that my mother, an Olympic-level insomniac, did too. My father heard it and considered waking my mom but realized that she'd probably run screaming from the house so he left her alone.

My sister in Indiana slept through it too. I haven't talked with my mom, so I don't know if she felt it or not. She's been through a few when she lived in California though.

I live in West Michigan and it was all over our news as people felt it here too. Of course I didn't as I was sound asleep.

The funny thing is that I woke immediately and immediately knew what was going on. I wasn't sleeping too deeply at the time because Cleo'd been in my room an hour earlier with a leg cramp, so maybe I had my wits about me more than other people who woke out of a deeper sleep. Still, I somehow knew it wasn't thunder or large trucks or anything like that; when I heard the chimes of my grandfather clock banging into each other the way they do when I turn the corner too abruptly and ram into the clock, I figured it was an earthquake.
Strangely, Miss Puppy seems not to have noticed because I didn't hear any crying or whining from her corner of the house.
