Lisa, at New York Chica, has tagged me for a meme I did a few weeks ago, but considering that I'm fairly new at the meming game I think I can come up with a few more facts that won't put my readers to sleep or or cause them to run screaming from the room.
In fact, since it's Thirteen Thursday, I'm going to try to come up with thirteen things about myself. Wow! Can you hardly stand it?
- I was born on November 1, so even though I'm Jewish I know all about All Saints Day.
- I remember watching the Beatles perform on Ed Sullivan and being unable to wrap my brain around the image of boys with actual hair. The only boys I knew were my father (bald) and Stevie Friedman (crewcut), and I insisted the Beatles must be wearing wigs or mops on their heads.
- I set two alarm clocks on school days to give me a fighting chance of actually getting out of bed.
- I can spell pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis.
- I'm fanatic to the point of near-ridiculousness about recycling.
- I'm such a determined tooth-grinder that I've worn down the points on my canine teeth, which probably means I couldn't bring down a water buffalo or bite my fingernails, even if I wanted to.
- I worked my way through the entire Lord of the Rings series even though I found it pointless and contrived. I wanted to see what I was missing and concluded that I wasn't missing much.
- I haven't used shampoo on my hair for six years. I'm a Curly Girl and I use only conditioner, which makes my hair very happy.
- My eight-year-old daughter has been teaching me how to use Photoshop.
- I think Hermione Granger is one of the most outstanding female role models in literature.
- I'm pretty handy around the house. I want my kids to see me fixing things and using tools so they know that moms aren't completely useless and women can fix something besides meals.
- I don't wear yellow, orange or beige.
- I can't stand olives, mushrooms or pineapple.
I'm not going to tag anyone for this meme, but feel free to participate and let me know if you do.
