Those Oompa Loompas really freaked me out as a kid!

feefifoto

Yeah, in the book the original Oompa Loompas were teeny guys from an obscure jungle tribe but the filmmakers were worried about offending so they gave them green hair and orange skin and consequently freaked out generations of kids. The whole mood of the movie was kind of creepy. Remember the German television reporter talking about Augustus Gloop? Next time you watch the movie look for the elk horns positioned perfectly over his head.

I'm totally with Cleo - I want an Oopma Loompa too! One that does all the cooking and cleaning!

But you are right... they are kind of creepy!

Peapodsquadmom

Oh how funny. Yeah...can my Oompa Loompa do laundry please?

To answer your question regarding my kids' pseudonyms...no, they don't know them. I created them purely for security purposes. Ironically, they've made up completely different names for themselves. Snap calls himself Ariel (clearly not HIS name). Split calls himself Michael. Sweet calls herself Alice. They have consistently used these made-up names for months now...when referring to themselves or when conversing with one another. It's bizarre. We spent so long trying to come up with the perfect names for each of them in utero and then they just change them up on us!
