Vacations -- rarely restful.
We're back and I fully intend to relate some of our travel stories (sorry -- no passport hijinks this time) as soon as I recover from ... zzz ...
Oops - sorry. Must have dozed off for a moment.
Anyway, there's lots to tell, involving Rolls Royces, the Rosetta Stone, Her Dead Father, Neil Diamond, Princess Diana, Nelson Mandela, security for the Magna Carta, Oprah Winfrey, treacle and Hugh Grant.
Were you aware that, among the alternatives to hijinks suggested by spell check are: methinks, Nijinsky, and blinks's? Were you also aware that I didn't know blinks's was even a legitimate word?

What IS that on the plate??? I must know.
And I can't wait to hear about Neil Diamond.

JD: It's sliced mango. The hotel where we stayed was very, shall we say, elegant, and they were unfamiliar with the American concept of "hurry up and get my daughter's food before she falls asleep", so they brought this lovely plate of sliced fruit which sat on the table for the rest of the meal because Cleo did in fact sleep through the entire meal. They were horrified when I asked them to wrap it up so we could take it up to our room; they insisted on SENDING it up on a room service cart, complete with tablecloth, silverware and rosebud in a vase.
I'll get to Neil Diamond soon.
