Photo personalized princess and superhero DVDs, in time for Christmas and as a follow-up to Halloween
Halloween is coming, in case you hadn't noticed due to obsessing to the point of droolage about why stores have been packed with Christmas stuff since you began your back to school shopping. Seriously, one of our town's radio stations changed to an all Christmas format a couple of weeks ago. At first I thought it was a mistake or a joke but they've been at it all day every day since then and there's no sign that they're letting up. I've accidentally clicked on Alvin and the Chipmunks' Christmas song twice, which is just about the number of times I'll need to hear it this calendar year.
Robey's too old and dignified to dress in costume this year, unless everyone else does, in which case we'll be scrambling to create something out of papier mache and beach towels at the last minute. Maybe I can just cover him with Bandaids and he can be a giant owie. On the other hand, strategic planning for Cleo's Hermione Granger costume has been underway since November 1, 2007; she's been hassling reminding me since December about a $40 Hermione wand she saw in a SkyMall catalog.
Stop hyperventilating -- I found a much less costly generic wand at Party City.
Cleo's desire to dress as Hermione will be a slight departure from the typical 3rd grade girl's MO, which is to dress as a fairy or a princess or a fairy princess or a butterfly fairy princess or a fairy princess with an airborne carriage pulled by a team of butterflies. There's something appealing to girls about fantasy characters, whether princesses; or fairies or mermaids; or brilliant, talented and not bad-looking witches, for that matter. They clamor for tiaras, they nag to visit Libby Lu (although not us, not any more, not since we had a little visit from head lice).
Which brings me to one of the newest products we're carrying at FeeFiFoto.
Remember around Father's Day we had these videos about The Adventures of Amazing Dad, where you could put Dad's face onto a super hero's body and Dad would fight crime and save the world just in time for milk and cookies?
Now -- guess what?
Just in time for Halloween and Christmas comes your favorite little girl's dream: a DVD featuring Snow White wearing your special girl's own personal face. What little girl wouldn't swoon from the excitement of seeing herself portrayed as a princess, in her own princess movie that she can watch and enjoy over and over?
Adorable, isn't it? The women on The View thought so too, last year when they saw the Christmas video. Wait until they unveil The Little Mermaid in early November. And if you're tuned in to HSN on November 4, you'll see My Christmas Adventure.
